Flower care tips
If flowers have arrived at your home as a gift, here are a few simple rules to help them stay fresh and beautiful for longer.
1. Start with a clean vase
Always clean your vase before using it again. Bacteria can build up on the surface while it is stored, and this can shorten the life of your flowers.
2. Refresh the water regularly
If your flowers arrive in a vase, change the water every few days.
If they arrive in a hatbox, water them every 2nd day using a small watering can. Try to pour the water directly into the base and avoid getting water on the petals, as this can make them decompose faster.
3. Keep them away from direct sun and fruit
Place your flowers in a shaded, cool spot. Avoid harsh sunlight, heaters, and strong drafts. Keep them away from fruit bowls, as some fruits release natural gases that can make flowers age faster.
4. Trim the stems every 2–3 days
For vase arrangements, trim the stems slightly every 2–3 days. Use only enough water to cover the ends of the stems, rather than filling the vase too high. This helps reduce bacteria and keeps the flowers fresher for longer.
5. Give the buds time to open
Some flowers will open gradually over a few days, while others may keep their bud shape until the end. This is natural and part of the beauty of fresh flowers.
6. Enjoy the arrangement as it changes
Please be patient and enjoy the natural movement of your arrangement. We design our flowers in layers, combining blooms at different stages so the arrangement can continue to change, open, and stay beautiful for more than 7 days with proper care.
