Mother’s Day 2026: The florist’s notes

(3 minutes reading)

Gifts for Mother’s Day are a very personal choice.

As a floristry studio, we’ve noticed some shifts in preferences over the past few years — something that makes us both happy and a little dejected at the same time.

People are moving away from overly perfect arrangements and choosing flowers that feel softer, more natural, and more emotional. Not stiff, not corporate, and not another generic “Mother’s Day package.”

Instead, people are drawn to seasonal flowers, soft colour palettes, textured arrangements, and designs that feel calm and thoughtful — flowers that feel personal rather than overly arranged.

And honestly, years later, nobody remembers the exact bouquet size.

What people remember is how the flowers arrived, the handwritten card, the moment they opened the door, who thought about them, and who made time for them.

That’s why Mother’s Day Australia still matters, even in a world where everyone says they “don’t need anything.”

Because flowers create pause.

And pause is rare now.
